I competed the notching the front frame to allow the rack and pinion steering to clear the lower part of the frame. Now it is ready for the parts to complete the front suspension. |
Here is the 1948 with the TCI IFS Rack and Pinion front end installed. All that is left are the wheels and tires. |
Here is a closer look at the right side for the truck. See the disk brakes "A" arms (upper and lower) as well as the coil spring and shock. I think that this will work great. |
Now it is January 20 2004 and I have the 1948 chevy on its tires. It looks good to me after all the work the past 3 months. Now I am putting the new 4 Link suspension on. This is a FAT BAR Link system by No Limit Engineering. |

I started sandblasting the frame and after 150 lbs of sand and 10 hrs in total the frame was ready for the POR 15 |

![]() I used some metal that was in the shop to design the gas tank mount. After measuring, cutting, and some welding I completed the design. Next is to replace the rusted old test material with new and finish the mount. |
